Lockerbie bomber Abdel Baset al-Megrahi was released from scotland prison for “Compassionate” grounds. Evidently that means that if your “sick” then you can go home to your family for the last “few months” of your life. However, this is not true unless you’re a terrorist from Libya evidently.
Let me say that I can understand it from the point of view that it would be nice to see your family and say final good byes, however, do they not have visitation rights at that prison? He was CONVICTED of killiing 259 people in 1988 that were on a plane flying over Scotland, including another 11 people on the ground in the area where the plane went down.
In my opinion, and I’m clearly not alone in this one, NO ONE should be released from prison unless it’s because they’re wrongly convicted, or have served their time. Especially in this case involving a terrorist. Oh, and guess what happens when he made it to Libya? They were surrounding the plane applauding him, in their minds he’s a hero for taking out 270 INNOCENT people because those people “didn’t” believe like they did? First of all how do they know who believes what? Just because someone lives in a certain area, doesn’t mean they believe the same thing their neighbor does.
This story stinks, and I have a feeling we aren’t told exactly why he got released, and if he actually does have cancer? Has anyone challenged that diagnoses at all? I’m not saying they ARE lying, but anything is possible these days.
I used this article from foxnews.com, read it for yourself.
Thanks for reading,
Tim
